Cook Islands Legal Wedding Information
In order to qualify for a legal Cook Islands wedding you are required you to be in the country 3 full working days prior to the wedding day.
The following documentation & information is required to organize your marriage license:
- Full birth certificates
- Passports
- Divorce decree or Death certificate of deceased spouse (if applicable)
These documents must be original and in English, or accompanied by a certified English translation.
Cook Islands law requires anyone wishing to get married to be at least 21 years of age, or to have written consent from their parents.
If it is not possible to be in the country 3 working days before the wedding, a waiver can be applied for at an additional charge. This must be done in writing to the resort, and a good reason must be provided.
